I was curious to find out if any of the members have built in Northern Az, and if so do they have any advice on where to purchase some good land with trees on site for a resonable price. Im in the process of looking for land. I live in Phoenix and signed up for the class in Vegas! Look forward to meeting all that attend class.

Hey Keysoflife, I am also living in Phx. metro area, actually Glendale. I also am planning to attend the Las VBegas school. I am also looking for land in northern Az., Maybe we could check it out together, and see if there's a savings opportunity in possibly splitting some land? Who knows, anyway, I am just joining this association today and I am very pumped to explore and learn about log homes. I have been reading a book called complete guide to building log homes, by Monte Burch, I will let you know if its worth the read.Az. may be a tough place to find the right land,but this is diffinatly the right time to buy. I am a full time student and work part time as a building maintinance person at a local veteranarian hospital, I was a licensed subcontractor in Ca. for 10 years.

Hey guys - Welcome to LHBA.
We also live in north Phx.
Attended class April this year.
We ended up buying land in NM after finding that what we wanted (TALL trees 7000+ feet) had gotten wayy to expensive in northern AZ. So we looked in so CO, UT, even WY (too cold & too much snow) finally found
some gorgeous - affordable land in the Sacramento mtns of south central NM.
You are gonna love this forum & the class will change your way of thinking - if not your life!

Awesome to here there is someone else in Phoenix who is a member. I am super excited about the class in Vegas. If I may ask, what city are you close to in New Mexico? Oh by the way my name is Scott Schwenn and my wife is Jenny. We live in Tolleson(south Phoenix). What is the price per acre over there? I agree that land in north Phoenix is outragous!!!! Looked Flag to Snowflake, Heber and in between. Want LARGE trees and we are planning on buying within the next 6 months. From what i here the land is one of the most important parts of the plans.
