I really want to try a small

I really want to try a small system soon like barrelponics or similar. However I am still trying to find a way to build it cheap. I have found one blue barrel for 8$ but its the only one I have and they are hard to get here. I did some shopping on fish thanks and they are extremely expensive. Some pleople are building them using pond liners in a wood box, im looking in to that too.

Also I am in freezing country so this complicates things.
