Christmas Gifts in anticipation of building needs

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I am taking the class December 5th-7th and I am excited. However, knowing my family, they are going to be Christmas shopping before I come back from that class. They are going to insist on getting me something despite me telling them not to. SO, I would like your help with coming up with a list of what i will most certainly need to build my log home (i.e. a block and tackle (or two?, or three?).

Can any of you give me a list of things I will need? Assume I have nothing right now. And please don't tell me to take the class first. I promise that I am not going to try and build it before I take the class. I just want those who get me a gift to get me something I need to buy later anyway.

Any help you can give will be appreciated.

Eric

A cant hook for turning logs. We just got a Logrite 60"...heavy duty and worth the extra money, because it will likely never break.

I'll hear an arguement about this but...

Even my wife, the stingy banker gal, says that she wishes we woulda got this thing a long time ago. You only live once.

I'll second that notion. I'm still trying to convince people to get me this for Christmas. My wife says "good luck with that one".
