Our church is tearing down the old rectory and a half court gym to make additional parking spaces for the handicapped. I just now got permission to remove anything I want from either property. Men begin with a backhoe like demolition Thursday night. This home had a beautiful staircase and railing, old woodwork, two neat triangular windows, wainscoating, the gym has beautiful hardwood flooring.....
Anyone live near Quincy Illinois???????????????? Not sure where to start but guess I'll head over with hand tools and crow bar and see what I can get out

Hello...is anyone here?....35 views and no comments?

Okay, just wondering why no one has responded at all to this post?
I went over tonight and salvaged 4 doors and some woodwork.
Other people were there also taking things so I missed out on the triangular windows. But I got an awesome oak front door! Going back tomorrow to get more woodwork....
At this point this is the only thing I can do towards my dream of
a log home is collect beautiful things to put in it.
Our house hasn't sold yet so cannot afford the classes yet, but still
hoping to come someday. Husband fell trimming tree limbs and has been having terrible back pain since, he may have to go on disability.
Can't even sleep in bed right now and getting no help from medical community. :x
But I am looking at land etc, just in case....

GrannyK,

Prolly haven't got any posts because there aren't alot of people from the LHBA in your area. If I lived local I would've definitely checked it out.

Hope your husband recovers quickly.

Has he considered some alternative forms of care?

We have been doing some research and very slowly integrating alternative things into our live (aromatherapy, etc) but not really anything which really is a paradigm shift. My wife had just been to the Chiropractor (she goes about once every month) the day before and he adjusted her but said she would need to see her the following week. She could still barely move her neck one direction and it was hurting her along with some back pain.

So we're at the mall a couple of months ago and there were some massage chairs and Chinese guys who didn't speak good English. So I read the sign and show them a $20 to give her the full treatment. He doesn't do x-rays, get a medical history or anything else..she said he didn't even talk to her. Just gave her what felt like a deep tissue massage (she said it was somewhat painful at times but tolerable) and 20 minutes later they're done. She is a little soreness still but neck doesn't hurt as much within an hour. Then wakes up the next morning, all pain gone, more flexibility then she has had in a long time and the pain hasn't come back.

Doubtful it will be permanent but too often we look for a cure instead of treatment.

Their sign said Chi-Gong although it seems to encompass more than just massaging here is a link for more info.
