Frequently asked questions about our log home class
We recognize that some people cannot attend a weekend class, so do occasionally have a class during the week. A weekday class is very rare. If you want to attend a weekday class, then just email us and we'll try to notify you if we do schedule a weekday class.
Yes, there are a few people we don't allow into class.

The class starts at 9am sharp in our parking lot. The class ends at approximately 8pm.
We have never cancelled a class in our 40+ years of teaching. If WWIII
breaks out, or bird flu kills 99% of the worlds population, I suppose
we might have to cancel a class.
Class sizes vary wildly. We try to have around 20 people in each class.
It will likely be raining, drizzling, showering, or misting (hey, this
is WA!). Most of the class is indoors though, so if you bring an
umbrella or rain jacket for the outdoor parts you'll be fine. You can

No, those materials are only available to members at the class.
Unfortunately there is no way to get into the members only section of the forum until after you attend the class.
Yes, there is a chance that a spot will open up. It is up to luck if someone drops out. Just email us in order to get onto the wait-list and if a spot does become available we'll let you know.

No, we do not normally send out any confirmation emails. When
you sign up you should receive a confirmation email from our credit
card processor 2checkout.com, and that's it.
There is no address, but we do have driving directions posted on our website. Caution, never stop by without an express invitation. We have enforceable no trespassing signs posted, and our pit-bull Fang will cause you some trouble.

Classes are offered sporadically. Sometimes we take time off to build or work on other projects for months at a time.

Lifetime membership in the Association is $795 per person ($695 each for groups of two or more) and that includes tuition to attend one of our log home classes.
At this time all of our classes are either at Gold Bar, WA, USA, or Las Vegas NV USA.
Yes, in our online forums, not by e-mail. There are three main reasons for this:
First, we frequently have volunteers or staff answering e-mail who may or may not be familiar with log home construction. So we have the online forums for our members and staff to gather and share relevant experiences, tips and tricks for getting your problem fixed.
Second, using the forums means that our instructors don't have to answer the same questions over and over in private. Instead the questions and answers are all in the members areas of our forum where other members can benefit from being able to find the answer. In addition, sometimes our members find their own ways of doing things, and they love to share. You might find that a fellow member offers a great solution that you hadn't thought of.
Third, the strength of any association comes from its members. By answering questions in private, we rob our members of the opportunity to grow by contributing knowledge and help to each other. A strong, vibrant, helpful community of members is our biggest asset.
