I ran across this site:

and this:
http://loghomelinks.com/logs.htm
and wondered if anyone had used a company like this to obtain logs, and if they were credible, reasonably priced, etc. ?

Last year, about this time, I called a local log home building Co. He quoted 7.50 a linear foot for logs... or about 15 grand...
I looked all over the place for about 4 weeks...
I found my logs - and come to find out that this same guy buys his logs from the same place.... I paid on average about 3 bucks a linear foot... or less than 9 grand delivered...
So you take your choice...
I have logs actually living trees that I'm willing to sell in N. GA. The trees are 18"-24" at the base. They are at least 50 year old loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) and shortleaf pine (Pinus echinata). I have a few pines that were selected for large telephone poles but I did not harvest them. I can have a logger harvest and deliver the trees within in a 150 mile radius of Atlanta.
