A couple of weeks ago two of our instructors had the pleasure of meeting up with Larry (above), who built this beautiful log home in Carnation, Washington after taking our class.
Despite the fact that Larry was busy packing and getting ready to move to China, he graciously took the time to show us around his home, swap construction stories and generally be a great host.
Larry estimated that he had spent approximately $40,000 (US) building this house (including everything -- well, septic, plumbing, wiring, permits, and of course the finished house itself), and another $60,000 on his 5 acres of land. He recently sold his home for just under $500,000, which will help fund his retirement -- and let him fulfill some dreams too.
When the topic of our Association came up, Larry said that "Taking the LHBA class, and building my log home, was one of the best experiences of my life." Thanks for the kind words Larry, we're glad we could help.
Congratulations on a job well done Larry! We're going to miss you when you're in China, so be sure and send us a postcard!
