Insolation under the cardecking

I am exploring various options... since my walls will not be 20' high and I don't necassarily want the cardecking exposed, has someone used or explored the idea of using high density foam (R20 or 30) that has jip board on the house side...
I know this is not recomended, but it might make sense for me... I don't like too much exposed wood, and ceiling color would be a interesting variation to all the wood...
