Anyone have any tips on making a scratch built fence/wall for some land? My property is on the small side, at least compared to these nice big parcels most people here will have out in the country. It is off the grid but within a normal looking neighborhood, kinda cool actually b/c when you are standing on it the area looks like it is in the middle of nowhere but the closest house is like 200 yards away. So it is a tiny little sliver of country within the city.
I am thinking of just getting some cheap 2X4s from the local construction sites where I nabbed my plywood and particle board for my RV reflooring and posting them in the ground to cover the outline of the land (it is a rectangle 50 feet by 150 feet so 7500 total which ain't bad in LA). But that is a lot of wood so has anyone ever built a fence with wire? I thought about having a post every ten feet and stringing some wire in between to ward off those pesky inspecters and trespassers.
What kinds of signs do people have up? My favorite will be "If you can read this prepare to be gored by a bull and ripped to shreds by an attack dog trained to bite genitals first and jugulars next." Is this going too far? Or should I say "Trespassers will be shot on sight by a spring loaded bazooka."? (=
