NEXT ADD ON IS GOING TO BE THE LAST .I BUILT A SMALL LOG CABIN ON MY 45 ACERS IN ATLANTA MICHIGAN . 12X18 BUTT AND PASS D- TOUNG &GROOVE LOGS ALL PINE .PUT SMALL LOFT AND SMALL PORCH .ADDED ON ONCE ALREADY A 12X14 ROOM .WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THE MAIN CABIN AND THE ADD ON TO BE 2 FLOOR HIGH 18X18 ADDON .HOW WOULD YOU TIE IT ALL TOGAHTER SO IT LOOKS LIKE ONE BIG AREA .

I like your style.
I think it is almost impossible to do what you ask. Generally speaking, a box looks like a box. Here we tend to build mostly square homes because it's the cheapest way. We were taught that every extra corner on the home adds to the cost substantially. For most of us we stick to the 4 corner style.
I believe there's been a discussion or two about this subject. Don't remember if it was in the public section or the member's only section. But the jist of it is to build the two beside each other and design a covered hallway (if you will) between them.
But look closely. It might be cheaper to build a new home with more space. That is if you take the LHBA class and learn all the tricks on building on the cheap (inexpensively).
