Yes, I'm talkin' eye candy for log home lovers.
I know it takes a lot of time but....
I sure would like to see a lot of old photos Skip may
have lying around. I could look at those for days!

Paul,
If you look around you can find some "home of the months" posted here which have some photos. The LHBA website has some there too.
Now that you took the class what are plans? As soon as I finish the class I plan to make a small model out of wooden dowels. I really like the look of tenon-joint notching for the corners ( and it looks easy to do) but maybe the class will have better ideas regarding functional/structural integrity. It seems most members use the butt/pass method.
I already have my tract of land and am hoping to locate some good logs by this summer/fall.
Good Luck!
Cheers,
Kola
..maybe butt and pass doesn't have setting issues...as I could see where the other might.
Hi, guys--
I've not looked lately, but in the past the main Association website has had quite a lot of miscellaneous photos. And as Kola mentioned, with the new exceptional log home awards, and the links to members' sites, seems like there's quite a bit of eye candy available, one way and another. We've sure looked at them over and over.
Sara :D
JeffandSara, I've not seen any pics of your home but I've heard that it is very nice. Where in CA do you live? You keep referring to a very active seismic zone, but that could be for most of the state. I was raised in Willits, CA and we had a few shakers up there from time to time. Now I live less than 200 miles from the New Madrid Fault, which has produced some very serious quakes in the past. I'll bet they wish they had some B&P homes in Indonesia! Take care, Mark
