I would like to take the class and begin building in a year. I have property in Orderville, UT near Zion national Park. Any suggestions on where I can get logs for a good price?

log deals
Techniques for getting cheap and/or free house logs is covered in detail in the class.
The LHBA also recommends a 2 year period before building where you gather tools and materials. This gives you enough time to find the really good deals. It also gives you time to build your scale model and plan your build. Planning is such a big part of this process and it takes quite a bit of time.
Of course, the two years is partly recommended because LHBA tries to teach the easiest and most affordable way to build. If you have a surplus of cash you can always spend it to speed up your build.
But again, what you really need is the class, after that things will look very different to you... much more in focus.
My suggestion is to sign up for the email alert so you'll know the next time a class is scheduled. Hopfully there will be more classes later this year once we get toward the end of the build season.
