His friend built the strair treads out of half logs--anyone have the link? thanks

Memorial Day class 2008

Well, I signed up for the class. Already have my land and thought I should quit putting things off! When is the right time to take this class? Some have yet to get land and have already taken it. I don't think there is a 1 step 2 or 3 in this. For me the class is all I lack so I decided why wait? Wait for what? If you are on the fence jump in now if you have the time. (Money-this is an investment do it)The class will fill up soon so (when will be the next class you fail to take?) if not now, when? I have put to many things off and decide not on this important project. Hope this encourages a fellow procrastinator, if just one! In fact I am trying to get my brother in WY. another Drywall contractor to take the class. I just called him up a few days ago so I am not sure he will. He seemed interested in it though. If not him I will try and bring another as I signed up for two. MEMORIAL DAY CLASS 2008 yes I will remember!

God Bless

Congrats Timber on May CLASS

Congrats Timber for finally taking the class. As another fellow procrastinator and drywall guy, I now can say I waited to long and that our membership fee was money well spent. I'll say again from my few previous posts....I wish I would have located this organization 20yrs ago. Go there and act like a sponge, try to keep your questions to the end of each session, they'll usually get to it anyway if you just wait. Skips famous cookies are Great, but watch out for "Fang" because he'll be keeping an eye on you anyway!

I agree, the time is now to take the class!

Life is coming fast right now, and it would be great to be have the time to plan slowly and start collecting needed stuff cheaply! But now is a good time for us to make a change, so we'll do the best we can.

Next week I'm going to look at some properties in Colorado (Pagosa Springs) and hopefully find one that works for us. (I was thinking eastern WA, but after traveling up to WA for the class, decided it was just too far from my family.) = (
If it works out - full steam ahead. (It's how I work best, anyway.)

Be that as it may, the Craigslist here in Phoenix is loaded with stuff from the market falling out, and it would be fun to bargain shop it for a year or two! So take the class now - and you'll be in a better position to build it right and build it for less!

RE: Congrats Class /Tom

Thanks- Actually I was planning on a modular home and then I liked the lot so much I felt it was a lot fitting for a log home. After I priced them I thought modular again. Well I found this site awhile before I posted and read a lot on the forums. The more I hung around the more I liked it. Actually, I did not put this class off for to long the other 2 classes before this one I was thinking on taking that's it. I am just a put it off till later to much in life and did not want that happening with the class. So really I did good this time. I still don't know when I will be able to build but will be one giant step closer. I live in Southern Calif.(had to be in the 90's today). My lot is in Cody WY. Lots of Logs up there though-close to the Montana border. So I was contemplating waiting until I was ready to build. Shark said he prepared 1.5 years after the class to build getting plans etc. together, tools, whatever --so it made sense to me to take it now. They never know or don't let on when the next class will be so I figured now is good as it gets :) It might be awhile before I build, but who knows-hopefully sooner than later!
