Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to all you Marines out there--234th birthday!! And thank you to all our veterans! Without each of you, this website and these forums probably wouldn't be here and none of us would have the opportunities, dreams, and goals we hold so dear! Thank you and may God bless each of you!

JarHeads and Leathnecks
AnneG,
Thanks for those well wishes.
I am currently at LSA Anaconda, Joint Base Balad, Iraq working as a contractor on an Army support project.
Marines are in SHORT supply here as this is a "little like garrison" with a pool, BK, Cinnabon, PizzaHut, Subway and a Nicer PX than we had at Area 21 on Pendleton, back in 1981 when I was there.
Life is good and there is food, almost round the clock somewhere here. No MRE's unless we're "out and about".
Thanks again for the Happy Birthday note.
James.
Here In Afghanistan
Man, you have it nicer than we do! I'm at the airport in Kabul...there's a few things here, but definitely not a BK and Cinnabon. Still we have it much better than the soldiers out in the FOBs. My hats off to those men and women.
Thanks for the well wishes...
Russ
