Is there any way to search for the location of various members? Since many people are either offering or requesting free labor, it would be really great to have a way to find out where members are who might live near another member. Unless there is some method I am unaware of, I have to search through messages and members names to try and determine where they live and/or are building. Perhaps just listing the state would be good enough, and if a member didn't want their exact location known, they could restrict their contacts to only posts on this site.

was attempted (rod?) but there were some technical difficulties. I dont remember the specifics but it was something to do with new members bumping old members off the map.
You could just use the search function and search for the state your looking for and sort from there.

I've been kicking around
I've been kicking around finding a new service to host a member's map, but I haven't gotten the desire to do so after Frappr went in the crapper with their service. I know Ellsworth was thinking about making some sort of official map feature available in the future, but haven't heard anything in a long while.
