New group site for Memphis TN Area Freecycle group.

The Memphis TN Area Freecycle Network is open to all who want to "recycle" that special something rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself! Nonprofit groups are also welcome to participate too!

One constraint: everything posted must be free. This network is brought to you by The Freecycle Network, a nonprofit organization and a movement of people interested in keeping good stuff out of landfills. Check out freecycle.org for other cities and info on the movement! E-mail memphistnareafreecycle-owner@yahoogroups.com for questions or improvement ideas!

We've been using freecycle for about a year now with great results. Mostly just for kids things and have given some bicycles away. Most everything we have offered disappears in a couple of days.

I was able to find some back issues of Fine Woodworking magazine (and many others) that a local business was eager to get rid of. All I had to do was ask.

Craiglist blows freecycle away

I gave up on that site it seemed to be more head ack then just getting on craiglist and finding what i wanted.
I found Stoves from the 1980s and 50s
Tung and grove oak flooring
Notty pine tung and grove wood panling
A great couch
Saterday i picked up a white cast iron kitchen sink kohler.
Toliet i see on there all the time i got one older model.
Ow i picked up a dobble steal door with windows.
Kitchen cabinets also.
Ever time i do have travel a distance but 25 to 30 in gas then pay top dollar for new.
I probaly should hit freecycle again it always has baby cloths like going to garage sales find 99 percent them are wast of time.
