To all you folks out there who took the time to build a scale model of your log home: I was curious to know what materials you used to form your mini-pier-blocks....I tried mixing some rigid foam compound (with volcanic-like results), and some left-over red clay I have shrunk just a bit too much for my liking.

Really trying to keep my scale dimensions as exact as possible so any suggestions would be welcome. :)

I was going to carve them out of foam blocks....seemed like it should work, be cheap, and fast.

Jeff used blocks of wood.

I bought textured paint to make them look like concrete, but never got around to painting them.

modeler's cerner Pt 2

Jeff & Sara are right about the wood. Easiest, durable,
and fast. Also looks pretty natural. It'll be covered in
the DVD...whenever I get the video tape and stills to
Steve for editing. Been doing about 90+ hours a week.
Trying my best to get it done but just so many hours in
the day. I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying....
