I have a suggestion for the "Log home eye candy of the month". It would be great if we could develop a list of common questions we all seem to share after viewing the latest addition. Then perhaps they could be answered by the homeowner and posted along with the drool causing photos.
Some suggestions might be:
How long did the process take?
What type of logs were used?
Foundation type?
Inside wall dimensions?
Total square ft?
A simple floor plan layout sketch?
p[ool,.klm,./l;,m ,..l,;,k./'/;,. (sorry I just spilled coffee on my keyboard  )
Any cost factors they would be willing to share?
Any special sources they found particularly valuable?
What they did that saved them the most money?
What would they do differently if they were to do it all again?
I am sure there more than the list above but maybe we could narrow it down to 10 or 12 key questions we all share?
What do you think? What questions would you ask?

Hi, Sparky--
I also enjoy the monthly "eye candy" and share similar questions to the ones you proposed. Inquiring minds want to know, definitely.
It occured to me, however, that a couple things might be potentially problematic, and as the guys (hi, guys! :D ) consider this, I'm sure that they'll be very much aware that the Home of the Month is featured on the public portions of the forum and site, rather than the member section of the forum, so the information and photos included are open to the whole world!
It was recently pointed out (by Steve?) that floor plans technically shouldn't/can't be posted, and I would think that even folks who drew their own (and have no financial stake like re-selling them) still might not want all their hard work lifted by just anyone from anywhere on the whole WWW. I will say that personally I would not! :D
I would, however, be curious about some of the "more general" real estate ad type information... how many beds and baths did they fit in there? and maybe also on what floors (just to give an idea of what you can fit in a box of such-and-such a size)? And I would think that log species, time it took, and some of those items might or might not be appropriate for the open web.
On the other hand, there WOULD be the option, should the homeowners and/or our intrepid leaders prefer, to add a supplemental informational post in the private section of the forum with any information that was more specific to class techniques or less-desireable for world-wide publication.
My two cents. (Hope all's well in Bend!)
