Any one ever go to Parazino Bros Auctions? www.pbauctions.com
They seem to have a lot of good stuff, just wondering if anyone knew how the prices are since I'm planning on going to one in a few weeks. And also how the quality is?

Anyone know of any auctions in the more northeasterly part of New England? I'm in Maine and I tried a google search and all I came up with was auctions for like antiques and what not . . .

Here are a couple of building supply auctions in the eastern part of PA.
http://www.wolgemuth-auction.com/ They have them every month. They have a link to their 2007 schedule on the site.
http://www.koserbuildingmaterials.com/NextAuction.htm They have auctions about every other month.
Also note that the www.pbauctions.com which was my original post are going farther east in PA now. They have auctions coming up in Bloomsburg and Allentown. Hint Rod (Allentown)!
I'm not sure about Wolgemuth or Koser but the stuff at PBauctions is in excellent shape and they are good to deal with! Also the PBauctions are inside! So the stuff isn't getting weathered.

Here in the Phoenix AZ area, there is an auction house which auctions off the Craftman returns from Sears. They hold it about once a quarter. I had purchased a new 18" 40cc chainsaw from sears for $129. I went to an auction a month later and bought an 18" 42cc for $50. I returned the other one. I bought another 18" 42cc at this months auction for $55. Can never have too many chain saws.

Matt thanks for the info.
Youngstown is only about 45 minutes from where I was yesterday for the auction. I'll keep this in mind when I'm getting closer.

Kyle,
Lordstown is about 15 minutes west of Youngstown Ohio. This sale only happens on saterdays. I've asked were all of these cabinates come from and have been told that they only will store the cabinates for so long in their ware house, the cabinates profiles may have been discontinued or some of them were display unit in home depot or lowes. Unfortunatly I don't beleave that they have a web page not for the weekly sale but I'm sure Kraftmaid does.

Matt,
Have no clue where that is, but we have several cabinet makers around here. One particular one has a huge auction every spring and fall where they sell their surplus cabinets and you can usually get a good sized lot for about $1k-$1500. But you have to know what you want so that you can size and piece them together. Their prices are pretty reasonable even if you have them custom made which i did for my current home. Its going to become a rental after I'm done with my log home so I wanted nothing fancy, solid oak honey stained cupboards for about $1000. Like I said its small but that was 50% cheaper than the next quote I got.
Haven't decided if I'm going to build my own cupboards or buy them. I'm leaning toward building them so it will have a more country appeal. But I'm always open to good deals! Do they have a website?

You mentioned that kitchen cabinates were avaiable at the auction. You are probably close enough to take advantage of the Lordstown Ohio Kraftmaid weekly sale. You can literaly get 10k kitchens for about 2k. I've bought many kitchen sets there before.
If anyone is interisted I can post directions on how to get there. I'll have to look it up though I've gone so much I just know how to get there not sure what the street names are.

Ok I finally went to their auction yesterday. Let me say they had more stuff than I thought they would.
Prices were pretty good. I picked up 12 interior unfinished prehung paneled doors for about $60ea, these normally run about $130 at lowe's or home depot. So I figure 50% off is pretty good. I picked up pewter handles for these doors @ 8.00 each. These go about $25 each retail.
Tool prices were ok. I got a new pancake air compressor for $160 cheapest I found it on the inet was for $197 plus $60 shipping. That was my dad's father day gift for going with me, plus I figure it will come in handy when I start putting in all those damn chinking nails with a nail gun and also spraying stain. Actually grabbed 2 so if someone wants to buy one drop me a line.
Big side windowed wood entrance doors which retail for about $2,500+ went for $1200. Kitchen cupboard prices were fair same as for carpeting. They run 2 auctioneers at the same time so make sure you take a friend. Didn't get a chance to see what the prices on toilets and jacquizzi tubs since I was in the other building bidding. I'm planning on going again closer to building time cause I'd like to pick up a jacquizzi tub.
Tons of flooring, including wood laminate and tile. Prolly best deal of the day was a high quality 1/2" tile (forget the brand), would be awesome for making a beautiful master bath, that went for $1 ft. It usually sells for about $3 per ft.
All items seemed to be in good shape. Some guy bought some composite decking and when he removed the metal braces and plastic wrap noticed that they had minor damage prolly from a forklift, well they knocked a $3 or $4 off per board for the ones that were damaged. They were pretty good with working with people. But again this was not second hand or damaged stuff, everything was new and of good quality.
