I've just started using an RSS aggregator for the forums on this site. Is anybody else doing this?

I'm only asking because it doesn't seem to be working too well. I think it's only grabbing from new topics and not all the new comments. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I didn't even know this site had feeds

Where did you find the feed links?

The very bottom of the home page.

There is a RSS link at the very bottom of the home page. I wish Steve would drop back in on the forums, and comment on these things. He is very helpful to the computer illiterate.

RSS recap

So it looks like only the first post in a thread gets downloaded to your RSS reader. If any further comments are made in the thread it looks like you'll never know unless you go to the web page manually, which deafeats the purpose of RSS in the first place.

I can't image I'm doing anything wrong since using this stuff is really a no brainer. So I'll just assume it's not set up completely yet. I only asked in case someone had some useful info.

They need to install this module

This module will allow you to get RSS feeds for comments:

http://drupal.org/project/commentrss

Unfortunately I think you will still have two feeds: one for initial posts, and the other for any responses.

It's possible there's another module that will merge them into one feed. Although, your feedreader may allow you to aggregate them someone, into one folder, and then you view all items in that folder and it will show you new items from either feed.

I use Sharpreader, it allows you to do that. I use that for Craigslist searches--I might be subscribed to 45 feeds for one particular search term, but I can click on the parent folder and see results for all of the feeds in one list.
