I would like to buy a piece of property (not much more than an acre) that has a creek on two sides. I understand that there are some issues with the septic tank currently on the property - it may have something to do with the creek.
What options are there as an alternative to a septic tank or city sewer?
Thanx!
Michael

Mikie, before you buy anything make sure the county you're in actually allows composting toilets as an alternative to a septic. I've just discovered our county won't. There still are some very archaic attitudes towards anything "new" (which is actually nothing "new"). You may have to school the county wonks on a composting system before they'll grant you a permit, if they even decide to listen to the benefits of composting systems.
Good luck with your endeavours!
