Hi guys ,

I guess i am one of the many who wants to attend the class but keeps putting it off. Anyway my question is: Is there anyone near my area that will be attending the class for June perhaps i can help with the trip if you are driving i have been wanting to attend but the the extras like lodging is way beyond my budget so i need to save where i can. I apologize ahead of time if i am not suppose to ask such a question but i thought i'd throw it out there perhaps someone can offer help.( my area is Las Cruces, NM)

thanks!

Free left from Airport in Seattle to the Wallac Falls Lodge

June Class 2009. I arrive at 11:45 on the 25th June, if you would like a lift I will be hiring a car for the duration

June Class

Ernie:

Looks like you can fly El Paso - Seattle for about $300.
by the time you add gas, lodging, food & time to drive- doubt that it would be any cheaper to drive.

I attended the class this past April & hope to start building early next spring - north of you up in the Sacramento mountains (Timberon, NM). All I can advise is: find a way to get to class. You absolutely will not regret it! Good luck!

My poor boy solution

Hey man it was above my means to go to the class and stay somewhere too. So I went, rented a Dodge Nitro and slept in it. It was only for two nights since I flew out on the same night as the last day of class. If you can pay for the class and the plane ticket eat off the 99 cent menu at Mcdonalds and sleep in what you are driving while you are out there. Having the ability and initative to make it happen is going to be a big part of what you need to actually get your house built once you know how.

This is in response to your post about building in New Mexico in the Sacramento mountains...i too love that area.im looking to buy some land in the Weed area or Mayhill..and because youre going to be in Timberon, would love to be able to stay in touch with you should the time come for either of us to have some assistance. When i was out there(im in Atlanta,Ga. at the moment) i couldnt help but notice the zillions of trees just laying around in the woods, thinking to myself,wow...wonder what it would take to get ahold of some of those.Anyway..my name is Joe and if you see this, please get back in touch with me!Thanks..Joes

Building in Timberon, NM

Hi Joe:

Yes, it is beautiful & still relatively inexpensive compared to other areas that we looked at. We are going over in about 3 weeks for a couple of weeks. One of our prime objectives is sourcing logs! Will let you know what we find out!
