Here's an interesting take on the solar cooker. It's a parabolic trough with
a double walled vacuum tube filled with vegetable oil in the middle. It has an oven at one end where you cook the food. 400 degrees on a sunny day and 300 on a cloudy day. Too bad it's not for sale yet.

They're using the same tubes

They're using the same tubes as my hot water collectors. The only difference is he pulled the guts, and filled with veggie oil. I've seen those tubes for sale as gov't surplus in the past.

Pretty neat, perfect for cooking, though pasteurizing water with it is a bit unrealistic. (yes it will do it, just going to be slow going)
