Hey guys, we're thinking we might go ahead and get ourselves some chickens/bantams/ducks this Summer. Not for sure yet, but I've been researching breeds, etc. I'm not going to pay $25 for a weeks-worth bag of feed locally and want to buy quality feed in bulk that'd last 6mos-year (Walmart's feed kills birds here, I know) that'd work for layers and meat birds that I could have barged up here. So for those of you in the Seattle Washington area, any suggestions on places with GOOD feed? A place that would deliver (to the barge) would be good.

THANKS!

Chicken feed

I don't know where you are but due to the barge thing I assume on an island of the washington coast. There is a forum at www.backyardchickens.com that has folks that live on the Islands out there. There is a moderator there named greyfields----I think, that has ALOT of chickens out there on one of the islands. He sells meat birds and eggs at some farmers market out there. I know some one over there can point you in the right direction. I hope that helps.
