Place looks great, I have hope I will be possible starting in the next few months, as long as the cash comes in as needed LOL! Oh, I too love those cedar logs I actual was knocking around the idea of a cedar plank counter tops?? Or maybe cypress, but that is much further down the road!
No cedar here, yet!
The flooring that everyone seems to think are cedar planks - are not! They are standard 2 x 12 douglas fir! When you do a light sanding and put on a coat of urethane, it really brings out the red!
We do have a gorgeous 2 inch cedar slab cut to use for an eating bar in the kitchen. It is cut from the center of a huge cedar tree, and we plan to use the outer half logs for support logs at each end! We'll leave the natural edging on the slab, and all the bumps and gnarls on the posts. I'm anxious to get it put together and installed - then we'll post pics!
