When is the next class?

Our instructors are often busy with Association related projects, or personal projects, and that means we just squeeze in a class when we can.

Classes can be a bit sporadic.  At one point we had no classes for a 5 year period.

When we do have a class we usually post it on our main page with about a months notice.  Our classes tends to fill up very quickly, sometimes they sell out in one week, so keep an eye open for when we post the next class.

You can view our class schedule to see all the class dates we're currently offering in 2007.

You can also sign up for our automated 'new class announcement email service.'  If you sign up for that service, then you will automatically be notified via email when we schedule a new class.

Email notification feature will be added soon

Right now we can't notify you of a new class when we add one.  We will be adding that feature sometime soon.

Information about this issue can be found at: email-notification-about-new-class-dates

Class

So if we were on the e-mail list for class notification, it no longer works?

Do we need to re-sign up?

Newsletter/ email notification service from old website

I spoke with our webmaster and here's what I found out:

We'll try to send an email to everyone on the old list when we add the next class, but we aren't sure it will work.

Yes, you will likely need to re-sign up for the new email list once we've added that feature.

So for the time being you might just want to keep checking our site for new information as it becomes available (about classes and the email list service).

e-mails of upcoming classes

Can someone e-mail of when the next class will be as I am from Canada and would need to know a month or so ahead of time so that I would be available on the days off the class, I would appreciate this very much. Thank you

Let us know about the next class....

We will be coming out soon! Let us know when the next class is expected... so we can start saving! Can't wait... want to start working on outbuildings in 2008!

New Class Info ?

Hi Steve I'm a newbe to the site. I'm wondering if there has been an update on class sign up since this posting?

I'm with you... I want to build soon...

Can someone give me a ballpark time when the next class will be? I live nearby... in the meantime is there something I can read? I really need to build soon since I'm just about to buy the property and the house on it is horrible. I need a new house on it soon. :)

October Class??

Jeff,

I am imagining that they will post the class any day now... but I have thought that for about a week...

I am guessing the class will be a weekend in mid to late October... This is all speculation based on last year's postings and e-mail notices

Pat

How many?

About how many people are accepted into each class? It sounds like there are a lot of us waiting for this one. ;)
Jeff, check back frequently and be ready to sign up as soon as it's available. Seriously.

I too got the Page Not Found error. There's some kind of error in the linkie on the last page of the shopping cart.

Here's how to get the rest of what you need:

1) Click the LHBA logo in the upper left corner to go to the main home page
2) Scroll down to the bottom of the class announcement, and click the "read more" linkie.
3) On that page, you will find linkies to travel info, parking info, what to bring to class, etc.

Or just try this linkie, and see if it works (this is where I ended up, and the page I think they wanted to direct you to after paying)

Found it

Thanks Klapton! Found it and printed out the application...

Did you sign up?

Pat

Yup

Yeah. Donna and I are going. We still need to make arrangements with work, get plane tickets, etc. (We will need a couple more days than just the weekend so we can look at some properties we are thinking of buying in the area.)

We are VERY excited!

Class announced?

Have no email and nothing up on the site. Has there been a class announcment?

debit card will not work

Have tryed for debit card but I have to download something and my computer will not allow me to do so. Any ideas on payment?

Klapton's picture

Which option did you use?

I saw two options on the form. The one at the top was Credit Card, and another one for Debit.

Now, the instructions here told you that you could use a debit card just like a credit card. I have often used a debit card online for things that asked for credit cards. It seems like I'm rambling, but I guess I'm getting at and suggesting this:

If you clicked the one that says "Credit Card", try again on the one that says "Debit Card". If you did the debit one the first time, try simply using the credit card one and see if it works.

As for dowload messages and what your computer will or won't allow, that can be complicated, depending on how you have your computer set up. If you are on a computer at work or something, I probably can't (or shouldn't, hehe) help you with any of those settings. If you are at home, then we can do somthing about it, even if you just temporarily adjust some security settings to get this done, then go back to robo-secure mode afterward.

credit card didnt work either

When I try to download the program to pay with debitcard on my own laptop it tells me I don't have superuser or admin rights. all other payment don't seem to work for me either.

Which Operating System?

Which version of Windows are you running? Whether Vista or XP, you need to log on to a user account with Administrator privileges. The Vista setup procedures probably walked you through a "wizard" where they had you make your administrator user first, install whatever you were going to install, then has you make a Standard account (non-administrator account) for every day use. This increases your security by keeping idiots from downloading and installing all sorts of dumb stuff on your machine (including you! lol) The bad side is that it's a pain in your butt now to do something legit when you need to.

I'm in.....I think

Was able to work though the FXsource option and setup payment online.
Lucked wayout in that I had to have online billpay already setup with password. Turns out that I did from years ago and Heh, remembered the password as well even though I did'nt remember setting up the online billpay routine. Payment is set to go though today (17th) but I do not have any solid confirmation about the class as yet.

Have to fax in the form

We have to fax in the form to finish the deal. There is a linkie to the form on this page: http://www.loghomebuilders.org/whatnext (the one I'm sure they meant us to land on after paying -- where others have reported "page not found").

New class sign up issues

Here are some answers to your questions:

1) The redirect problem has been solved.  Now when you complete the payment process you should end up at http://www.loghomebuilders.org/whatnext as the very last page.

2) The new class is posted on our website's home page www.loghomebuilders.org and also in the about our class section.  If you're not seeing the new class announcement on those two pages it's probably a browser cache issue, try hitting refresh or Ctrl+F5.

3) When using a Visa or Mastercard branded debit card just treat it as a regular credit card (click the "credit card" option during the payment process).  There is no need to download any program from our credit card processor's website (no need to enter a pin).

A Visa or Mastercard branded debit card will work exactly like a regular credit card.

4) DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING PAYMENT OPTIONS: atm direct debit card, digital check, bill me later, or FXsource.  Your order WILL NOT go through if you use one of those methods.

Instead only use the "Credit Card" option -- and pay with a major credit card or a debit card that has a Visa or Mastercard logo.

If you have any other questions, or if you encounter any other problems/issues, just email us and we'll try to help.

faxed paperwork

OK I have faxed the paperwork in after sending my payment in, and now I hope things manage to go smoothly. Since my transaction will take some time to clear, how do we arrange for any form of confirmation?

Roadscholar

Fine print

Just read though the web page about the class sign up and found something that bothered me a lot. Having just tryed about all forms of payment offered and failed until I called my bank and worked through the FXSource option and have setup pending payment only to read this on the web page:

"Then hit the sign up button and begin the payment process (be sure to select the credit card payment option, that's the only one we accept)"

Our credit card processor (a company called 2checkout) will be handing the transaction, so don't be alarmed when the URL changes -- this is a totally secure transaction, you will see a gold lock on the payment page.

Now I wonder if my payment can/will be honored?
I tryed the credit card method with my Visa debit card and could not make it work at all.

sign up issues

As stated on the sign up page, we only accept Credit Card payments.  We do not accept:  atm direct debit card, digital check, bill me later, or FXsource.

If you have a potential problem the best thing to do is email info@loghomebuilders.org

Explain the issue in your email.  Include your full name, and the email address you used to sign up for the class (and an order number if you have one).

We will then be able to research the issue and get back to you.
