Wind up LED camp light
Bought the wind-up light from Bi-Mart. Not too bad. Compared it to my
LED light from Home Depot...well, at least I can wind up the Bi-Mart
camp light if all the batteries are dead. Bought a solar charger for my
NiMH batteries. Looks like I should be set for emergency lighting.
Think I may buy three more of the Home Depot lights. I'll post a pic if
I can just figure out how to do it.

So the wind up LEDs are not
So the wind up LEDs are not that bright? Bummer :-(
Seems like I saw a wind up attachment for a cell phone somewhere. I always thought that might come in handy.
not bright but still light
No they are not as bright as the regular ones but they are better than darkness. :)
One of my cranker flashlights has blinkers and strobelights AND regular-style. It also charges my cell phone I paid about 20 clams and have had it about 2 months. So far...so good.

A pretty decent idea...and cheap! Of course, I got to thinking....
I'm here at work right now. We have a lot of exercise equipment
sitting out by the dumpster (of course, our bodies prove that this
equipment is like new!) . The exercise bike is already geared to
drive the drill at a good rpm. Why not hybridize the bike and drill?
Was just playing with the Bi-Mart wind up camp light. Took it into
the dark bathroom. It actually got pretty bright...of course, my
forearm aches from all the winding.

Wind-up LED camp light
I like it! Thinking that I may just buy several.
Right now I'm using a battery powered light that I can only find at
Home Depot. I liked it so much I ran right out and bought another
unit. Looked similar to the first unit, only this one was flourescent.
Yuk. Oh well. Works as a flashlight or a room light. Very bright,
and about 275 hours with four C cell batteries.
