Windows, anyone?

Can anyone tell me if these are decent windows? The seller is actually offering several sets for pretty decent prices. Don't quite understand what "Low E" is but I take it it's a good thing, right? I live in Northern Maine, btw, and this guy is in Mass, so I'd be able to pick them up if I won them, just wanted to ask you guys' opinions on them before I bid :)

Low-E is just one of the trendy terms used to catch your attention, think of NEW & IMPROVED laundry detergent. I believe it usually refers to the argon gas used to fill the space between the two panes to create a better insulation factor. Insulation in your walls is rated by R factor, the higher the R factor (R-19 vs. R-11) the better the insulation. Windows are rated by the U factor, but opposite of R's, the lower the U factor the better the insulation factor. U-50 windows are usually the minimum requirement, but aren't that great. When I renovated my stick frame house I put in widows around U-30.

Hope this helps. Oh, and I think that is a great price for those windows.

Those windows look good to me at that price and for up to $75.00 more. If I lived a bit closer, (like about 1000 miles closer!) I'd bid on them.
